Position Title: Medical Receptionist

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
Position Summary:
Seeking a dedicated professional committed to long-term employment with a highly respected, growing orthopedic specialty group in the New Hampshire Seacoast area.
Working Relations:
Positions reports to: Front End Manager
Internal Relationships: Office staff, clinicians, SMAO staff, and physicians
External Relationships: Primary Care Providers
Position Requirements:
Licenses or Certificates: N/A. Special training a plus.
Education and experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Friendly & outgoing, customer service experience
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Proficiency with EHR, Microsoft Office, PDF/Adobe
- Medical office experience is preferred
- Physically present and on-site at SMAO required
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet patients with a warm smile
- Arrive patients in a timely & efficient manner, verifying demographics and insurance information
- Collect copays & balances, discuss billing questions
- Coordinate appointment scheduling
- Work with clinical staff to effectively assist patients throughout their visit
- Maintain strict adherence to patient confidentiality according to provider standards and government regulations
- Appropriately prepare and submit paperwork for patient billing
Skills and Abilities:
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Friendly, personable and helpful attitude
- Excellent communicator with an attention to detail
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Must be highly organized and able to prioritize and multitask
- Prior experience using Allscripts PM, Phoenix Ortho, and/or ModMed is a plus
- Must be highly motivated to achieve performance goals as set by management
- Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods. Must be able to reach with both hands and arms, bend, and lift 20 pounds
- Must be able to hear and speak on the phone, with or without accommodations, for extended periods
- Perform other duties if needed
