Overview
This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Risk Management in administering the company’s Cargo and Passenger Aviation insurance, Worker’s Comp, Auto, Liability (Foreign & Domestic) Property, Cyber, amongst others for data preparation, invoicing and accounting/analyzing the associated insurance premiums and expenses. Additional responsibilities include processing and settling passenger baggage claims, following up on other insurance claims, and accounting reporting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in fulfilling all insurance renewal requirements including but not limited to assisting in assembling and analyzing exposure data, completing applications and meeting with brokers and insurers to obtain favorable proposals.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of insurance premiums. Allocate and prepare premium bill-backs to customers responsible for their share of insurance expense.
- Liaise with insurance brokers for obtaining evidence of insurance by way of Certificates of Insurance and Broker Letters of Undertaking in compliance with aircraft lease and finance agreements, civil aviation authorities, airports, service providers and vendors.
- Prepare monthly accounting submissions to report insurance premiums and expenses; perform financial variance analyses; liaise with Corp. Accounting on all insurance and claim expense matters.
- Investigate, validate and settle passenger baggage claims. Liaise with insurance captive admin for accounting for baggage settlements. File for recovery under AAWW’s aviation insurance.
- Notify brokers of insurance claims, gather and submit supporting documentation, monitor claim progress for full and timely recovery.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly accounting for premium expenditures and financial variance analyses.
- Assist Director Risk Management in all matters of insurance covering both aviation and non-aviation risk management.
Qualifications
- 2 – 4 years’ experience in a similar position or related experience (professional designations a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree, in Business, Risk Management, or Accounting or added work experience (coursework in accounting and/or insurance risk management desirable)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of accounting and insurance concepts and principles
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Airline-industry experience preferred
Salary Range: $88,000- $119,000

Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset.
