What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sterile Processing Tech position at Atlas Search?
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join a reputable hospital network based in Westchester County, NY at their locations in White Plains and the Bronx. You will play a critical role in the sanitation and infection control efforts of a healthcare facility, sterilizing instruments and equipment, processing and maintaining inventory, and fulfilling supply requests.
The base pay range for this position is $33 to $36 per hour. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of the offer. Responsibilities:
- Preparing medical equipment and instruments for decontamination
- Operating equipment to clean, disinfect and decontaminate surgical instruments, medical devices and equipment
- Inspecting instruments and equipment for signs of damage and wear and tear
- Unpacking, checking and stocking new equipment, instruments and devices
- Delivering equipment and supplies to all areas of the facility
- Responding to emergency supply requests during surgical procedures
- Maintaining accurate records of when items undergo sterilization
- Monitoring temperature and humidity conditions within storage areas
Requirements:
- Sterile Processing Tech Certification
- BLS
- At least one year of prior experience
