- Respond to and attend to customer requests in the deli department
- Have a working knowledge of the grocery store inventory to assist customers
- Respond to questions and complaints of customers in a polite manner
- Help design and implement training for deli clerks in food handling, equipment use, customer service expectations, inventory requirements, stocking and sanitation.
- Schedule and supervise employees
- Communicate and maintain food, customer service and cleanliness standards of Atlas Valley Purveyors
- Responsible for preparing deli items, weighing and wrapping deli products
- Maintains Food Safety Certification and follows the proper food handling procedures set by the County Health Department
- Operate all food preparation machines and equipment
- Ensure that products are properly labeled with prices and dates
- Assist in preparation of menus, recipes and seasonal specials
- Assist in training clerks in relevant food handling areas
- Manage product storage, maintenance and rotation activities to avoid any damages or spoilage
- Monitor and maintain stock inventory levels to avoid over and under stock issues
- Assist in training clerks in daily inventory issues
- Receive, unload and stock inventory
- Supervise Deli Clerks while stocking
- Unloading incoming shipments
- Unboxing products
- Maintain proper sanitation in the deli area, sales area, backroom, coolers, cases and common public area as set forth by Atlas Valley Purveyors
