Product Development Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Product Development Assistant with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in food manufacturing product development. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in formulating food products and a strong understanding of product development processes. A background in food science is highly desirable.
Reporting to the Director of Product Development, the Product Development Assistant Team Member will be responsible for:
· Formulation Development: Assist in creating and testing formulations for new and existing food products.
· Prototyping: Develop benchtop samples to meet project specifications and customer needs.
· Testing and Evaluation: Conduct sensory evaluations and quality assessments on prototypes and final products.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of formulations, processes, and trial results.
· Co-Creation: Involving customers in the design or development process of products. Gathering customer feedback, ideas, and preferences to develop the product that closely aligns with customer needs.
· Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, R&D, and marketing, to ensure successful product launches.
· Process Improvement: Support scale-up trials and identify opportunities to optimize formulations for production efficiency.
· Compliance: Ensure all product development activities adhere to company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
· Experience: 2-3 years of direct experience in food manufacturing product development, with hands-on formulation experience required.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry, or a related field is a bonus.
· Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety regulations, ingredient functionality, and production processes.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
