Responsibilities of the Cook:
- Prepare food in a timely manner in accordance with dietary requirements
- Follow standardized recipes in food preparation
- Inspect special dietary trays before service to ensure they are correct
- May serve food on the food tray line
- Supervise and/or assist in receiving and check in of deliveries of food and supplies
- Follow work/cleaning schedules
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe kitchen

Requirements
of the Cook:
- One to two years of cooking experience required
- Ability to interpret Resident Diet Cards
- Experience cooking in a Hospital, Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care facility
- Capable of following written and oral instructions concerning specific methods of the preparation of foods and beverages
- Familiar with seasonings, understand cooking times and follow sanitation requirements
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Professional and personable demeanor
- Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding of older adults
