Line Technician
Purpose:
The Line Technician is responsible for ensuring proper operation of all line equipment and any light mechanical repairs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- All plant personnel have the responsibility to monitor and report any deviations from our Food Safety and Food Quality (HACCP & SQF) programs to their immediate supervisor.
- Responsible for relieving all operators and supporting personnel for breaks and lunches as well as covering all production positions as needed during absentee occurrences.
- Responsible for inspection, diagnosis and repair of all line equipment.
- Knowledge of proper operating parameter of all equipment.
- Diagnose current issue and know the proper channels for escalated repair.
- General shop and building maintenance and repairs and maintain all associated records and inventory.
- Provide assistance to other team members in the performance of equipment repairs.
- Assist in the training process of the operations team.
- Other tasks as scheduled and assigned by Supervisor.
Other Required Responsibilities:
- Participate in training with maintenance team members and other plant employees.
- Ensure open communications with all team members to allow for workplace effectiveness.
- Maintain professionalism in handling work situations.
- Work with immediate supervisor on any specific/required skill development.
- Maintain work areas in accordance with established standards, i.e., GMP, SQF requirements.
- Works safely and complies with all aspects of the AOD Employee Safety Manual.
Knowledge and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; two years’ associates/technical degree preferred.
- Some Experience with high-speed packaging equipment.
- Good communication skills with a strong work ethic and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals for equipment maintenance and repair.
- High-level of reasoning ability to solve practical problems in situations where standardization may not exist. Ability to interpret various forms of instructions.
- Knowledge of standard repair procedures for industrial equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to regularly stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl around equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions, often in wet and/or humid conditions. Noise level requires hearing protection.
- Must be comfortable working at heights.
- Must have ability to work nights and weekends.
- Must be comfortable working with electrical equipment and high-speed packaging equipment.
