Material planner is responsible for managing material plans at the facility. Monitor and support production and procurement of raw materials. Ensure raw materials are maintained at optimal levels to maintain a smooth production plan with a steady flow of materials while achieving inventory targets. Process supplier forecasts to ensure alignment with production planning and forecasting. Support the local team for new launches with all aspects of floor and office systems implementation and floor readiness.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage material plans to ensure orderly launches/support build plans for new programs, critical end-of-life items, and special projects/programs.
- Manage inventory to optimize consumption and minimize excess/obsolescence for new products and end-of-life items. Identify, assess and communicate program issues/exceptions, and propose solutions.
- Review, audit and analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs) and provide feedback to teams on potential critical path material; proactively monitor actions to avoid crises.
- Ensure accurate counts and material follow-up in QAD, and customer’s system.
- Analyze engineering changes and take appropriate actions to address material impact in support of the product launch/program.
- Participate in team meetings, providing input to documentation of build plans and actions.
- Work with other team members to ensure program requirements and upgrades are supported.
- Help coordinate and communicate production build requirements to satisfy customer demand and maintain inventory targets.
- Provide input to and help maintain processes and procedures to ensure continuous improvement in support of Engineering program requirements and reduced time to market.
- Provide leadership and back-up support in Material departments as needed or required.
- Follow safe practices.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree (Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Business Administration) or equivalent combination of advanced schooling and/or work experience.
- APICS certification preferred.
- Years of Experience: 5 years of experience and demonstrated success in Business, Materials Management or Supply Chain Mgt/Logistics
- Travel Required: Yes
- Proficiency with ERP and Kanban Systems.
- Ability to plan and analyze production requirements and implement supporting material systems and business processes.
- Working knowledge of material flows and layouts.
- Highly organized and detailed to establish priorities, identify and set goals.
- Able to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines and be able to perform self-initiated and planned activities.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, especially for collaborating with others internally and externally to accomplish goals and resolve issues.
- Broad knowledge of mobile equipment and operation.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 and other customer specific requirements.
- Tact, a sense of urgency, and an overall customer satisfaction focus.
- Ability to reconcile accounts.
- Demonstrated and creative ability to solve problems.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite of software, particularly MS Excel and use of spreadsheets for managing and analyzing data.
