The MDS nurse position is open to LPNs with at least 2 years of MDS experience in a skilled nursing facility.
Duties:
- Performs all duties within the guidelines of Progressive Quality Care.
- Schedule and/or oversee scheduling of all resident MDS assessments to assure timeliness
- Coordinate and oversee all functions of the MDS assessment process to assure compliance with federal and state guidelines
- Interview residents, residents' representatives and others for information related to the minimum data set assessment
- Review medical records and records related to residents' health status to collect information related to the MDS
- Observe resident's to collect information related to the MDS assessment
- Enter data into the computer program for minimum data set assessments
- Electronically transmit MDS assessments in accordance with federal and state guidelines
- Assesses resident and staff needs regarding the assessment process and provides the Administrator and Director of Nursing with comprehensive recommendations concerning the educational needs of the nursing staff.
- Analyze quality indicator reports for potential concerns and review residents' care plans to be sure that all information is included
- Participate in committee meetings and function on committees as assigned
- Assist in educating staff in appropriate documentation to assure compliance with federal and state guidelines
