Aviagen seeks a motivated, hard-working individual with skills in Quantitative Genetics and Animal Breeding.
The position will be based at Aviagen’s North American breeding program located in Crossville, Tennessee.
The successful candidate will possess the following set of skills and attributes:
This position requires good organizational skills, a strong interest in hands-on work with birds and a willingness to operate in both a farm and office environment. The selected candidate will be expected to have a can-do attitude, ability to work as part of a team and the willingness to learn. Candidate must possess very good communication skills (verbal and written), good inter-personal skills and ability to integrate into a diverse Global R&D team. Overarching
objective will be to support the North American breeding program
in achieving its goals.
A competitive remuneration package will be offered depending on experience and skills.

- PhD or post-graduate (Masters) qualification in Animal or Poultry Science, with specialization in Genetics.
- Ability to manage and coordinate
research projects. - Ability to identify, evaluate and implement novel selection traits.

Ability to manage and analyze
large data sets. - Familiarity with methods of variance components and breeding value estimation.
