Job Title : Cybersecurity Lead
Location : Sacramento, CA Hybrid
Duration : 12 Months
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cal-Secure Roadmap Compliance:
- Thoroughly understand the CDT Cal-Secure roadmap, including its requirements, timelines, and best practices.
- Conduct workshops with division representatives and security team for cross-divisional collaboration through discovery, define, design, develop and deploy phases to achieve Cal-Secure compliance
- Conduct gap analyses to assess the client's current security posture against the Cal-Secure requirements.
- Develop and implement remediation plans to address identified gaps and ensure compliance.
- Monitor the client's progress towards Cal-Secure compliance and provide regular status reports.
- Security Assessment and Planning:
- Assist with the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with Cal-Secure.
- Assist in the design and implementation of security architectures and solutions.
- Contribute to the development of the client's cybersecurity strategy and roadmap.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with various teams across IT to ensure successful implementation of security measures.
- Communicate complex security concepts and requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Monitoring and Incident Response:
- Stay abreast of emerging security threats and vulnerabilities relevant to Caltrans.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of experience in information security, with a focus on compliance and risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS controls.
- Familiarity with California state cybersecurity regulations and initiatives.
- Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security technologies (e.g., firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communications skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with California government agencies or in the transportation sector.
- Knowledgeable and experienced working with Federal and State programs and organizations.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC.
- Knowledge of cloud security and data privacy regulations is beneficial.
Education, Certification, Training & Experience:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
