- Manages the credit analytical function in support of the commercial portfolio including timely development of new loan proposals, annual or more frequent internal loan reviews, and monitoring of risk ratings, exception, and covenants compliance.
- Reviews the work product of the credit analysts for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure that customer relationships assigned are managed to a satisfactory risk adjusted return for the Bank.
- Perform financial research, underwriting, and structuring of highly complex commercial loans for clients and prospects within the bank’s target markets, including those in both Commercial and Industrial segments and Commercial Real Estate.
- Review and research business financial statements and tax returns that require an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
- Develops and executes strategies to protect the Bank from situations where risk is elevated. Identify and monitor assets and customer relationships that exhibit risk characteristics that are in line with criticized assets.
- In conjunction with the CCO and CFO, manages specific loan loss reserves for impaired assets.
- Monitor, on an ongoing basis, information concerning customer performance, abilities, and industry to determine that the loan is an acceptable risk according to the Bank’s credit policy.
- Resolve issues including those that are more complex to meet project deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate and consult with Commercial Banking portfolio management peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
- Lead projects and teams or serve as a mentor for less experienced individuals.
- Demonstrate the ability to work directly and advise clients and other involved third parties to augment credit decision making.
- Provides professional, courteous and efficient service to all internal and external customers.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business program.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial credit analysis within a financial institution; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of a formal credit training program is preferred.
Other Knowledge & Skills
- Primary experience in C&I loans.
- Knowledge of Asset Based Lending and Commercial Real Estate lending.
- Utilized as a strong credit resource for relationship managers and market credit leaders with the ability to lead strategic loan structuring discussions.
- Debt capital markets experience with an understanding of the loan syndication process
- Previous portfolio management experience within commercial banking
- Loan negotiation (rates, terms, and collateral requirements) experience
- Underwriting experience including advanced commercial or specialty group relationship portfolio credit.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit policy, loan servicing, risk management and group underwriting requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, statements and accounting concepts.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Strong analytical skills including analyzing complex data.
- Ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Federal and State Lending Regulations as they pertain to commercial deposit and/or lending operations.
- Team player, with demonstrated collaborative skills.
