This dual-role position will support our legal and compliance requirements while working to enhance our operational efficiencies. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple responsibilities, with a passion for both legal work and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Paralegal Duties:
- Conduct research on industry regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring Axiom Rail Services adheres to all relevant legal standards.
- Prepare, review, and organize legal documents and contracts related to service agreements and operational compliance.
- Liaise with outside counsel as needed on legal matters affecting the organization.
- Maintain a centralized compliance database and track regulatory updates pertinent to the rail industry.
Business Process Analysis Duties:
- Collaborate with management to analyze current workflows and identify areas for operational improvement.
- Pinpoint bottlenecks and inefficiencies across departments, proposing and implementing data-driven solutions.
- Develop and document standardized procedures to streamline compliance and operational processes.
- Facilitate training and provide resources to support employees in adhering to new procedures and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, or a related field. Paralegal certification is a plus.
- 2 years of experience as a Paralegal or Business Process Analyst.
- Knowledge of legal compliance, especially within contract law and service-based industries.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with compliance tracking or ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
- Familiarity with the rail or transportation industry.
- Demonstrated ability to support a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
