Axon is Hiring a BI Developer Near Scottsdale, AZ

Your Impact

You will play an integral role in designing and building Axon’s first enterprise-wide data warehouse, which integrates disparate data sources across the company to form a holistic picture of Axon products, services, and operations. You will create data models that scale by leveraging your deep and broad knowledge of Axon systems and processes. You will help drive the strategy, implementation, administration, documentation, and training on various methods for accessing and interacting with data in the warehouse (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Synapse Analytics, etc.). Most importantly, you will multiply insights at Axon by enabling our end users – technical and non-technical roles across Product, Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain – the ability to self-serve.

What You’ll Do

Location: Remotely from US
Reports to: Senior Manager, Data & Analytics

You think big and long-term, while remaining agile and flexible. Your high standards and industry experience will help our team continue to raise the bar for BI, and your helpful and “can do” attitude will make others want to partner closely with you. You have a problem-solving mindset, with the tenacity to push through ambiguous obstacles, develop better ways of doing things, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You are a great communicator, with the ability to cater your message to your audience, as well as distill complex information and ideas into a digestible, easy-to-follow narrative.

  • 3 years of regular experience with large-scale, complex datasets (measured in TB or higher).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, etc., or equivalent experience.
  • Experience architecting large-scale BI solutions, including knowledge of data-modeling best-practices.
  • Advanced SQL skills and intermediate scripting experience.
  • Intrinsically motivated, with the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced environment, solving ambiguous problems.
  • Proven track record of successful written and verbal communication to stakeholders of varying technical depth.
  • Optimistic attitude and highly collaborative.
  • Availability to participate in on-call rotation, which may include after-hours or weekend support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of Azure data solutions, specifically: Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, Data Purview (or Data Catalog), Databricks, and Event Hubs.

  • General knowledge of business operations (Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, Professional Services, etc.).
