(Clinical Research, Drug & Device)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced candidate to lead our client solutions and physician engagement efforts throughout the Southwest United States, ideally located in the Phoenix, Arizona market.
Candidates with prior clinical research sales, medical sales, or physician liaison experience are preferred.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and growing existing Client relationships to drive growth of both drug and device clinical trials to our research sites. Additionally, the client relationship manager will manage physician engagement among our investigators to efficiently match them with the appropriate clinical trial opportunities. Your primary goal will be to drive new revenue by identifying and enrolling clinical research trials with industry sponsors across our site network with multiple physician specialists. Candidates will be matching top industry clinical trials with over 20 highly-skilled principal investigators; this is a built-in revenue opportunity!
This position is a hybrid role, primarily remote with various office visits to our research hub site in north-central Phoenix as well as our physician partner offices throughout the Phoenix MSA. This role has the ability to evolve into a regional or national position over time.
50% of the time, Candidate to focus on typical client management and development business activities including emails and telephone calls with sponsors and CROs as well as completing CDAs and feasibility questionnaires across a broad range of therapeutic area including cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology, internal medicine, pain management, and more.
25% of the time, Candidate should expect to travel both regionally and nationally for industry events, conferences, meetings, and other functions that require in-person attendance. Company will reimburse for all travel and approved expenses.
25% of the time, Candidate will act in the role of physician engagement. This means meeting with our physician investigators in their practice both during and after business hours, hosting lunch or dinner, meeting practice staff, and more to keep open channels of communication and best match our investigators with the most appropriate study opportunities. Candidate will use these opportunities to learn more about the physician's current pipeline and how best to grow the investigator's research portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify New Business Opportunities:
- Seek out and identify potential partnerships and business ventures that align with our strategic goals for the expansion of both drug and device trials.
- Develop and Implement Sales Strategies:
- Create and execute comprehensive sales plans designed to achieve revenue targets.
- Build and Maintain Relationships:
- Foster and nurture strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders, specifically as a physician liaison to our physician partners.
- Conduct Market Research:
- Analyze industry trends and identify opportunities for business growth.
- Negotiate Contracts:
- Effectively negotiate terms and close deals to support organizational goals.
- Conduct Feasibility:
- Work with operations team and investigators to perform initial study feasibility
- Provide Excellent Customer Service:
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through exceptional service.
- Utilize CRM Tools:
- Use our CRM tools for tracking sales activities and generating reports.
- Conduct Outside Sales Visits:
- Engage in field sales activities as required to meet clients and close deals.
- Attend industry conferences and association gatherings.
Qualifications
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in clinical research business development, healthcare sales, or physician recruitment / physician liaison experience.
- Industry Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of clinical trial operations, regulations, disease states, and indications.
- Solid understanding of clinical trial protocols and market trends for drugs and medical devices.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with clinical trial management software and data management systems.
- Proficiency in Propel by Devana CRM software.
- Sales Acumen:
- Proven experience in account management & healthcare sales.
- Strong sales skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Additional Qualifications:
- Strong working relationships with industry sponsors and CROs.
- Experience in outside sales is required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
