Join AZAD as a Construction Inspector that will be assigned to the Facilities Construction & Quality Assurance work group located in Vancouver, WA. The Construction Inspector / Representative will perform quality assurance inspection services on projects that vary in nature and may include high voltage transmission, substation, fiber optic, telecommunication, and non-electric facility work.This is a 2 year plus consultant position with high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. This position is full time on-site in Vancouver, WA with onsite 5 days weekly.The hourly pay rate range for this position (which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.57) is $29.57 - $40.00 depending on related qualifications and experience and composition of selected compensation package.The ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications : A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.A bachelor's degree in any field is preferred.With a degree, 5 yrs of previous work-related skill, knowledge or experience in construction is required.Without a degree, 9 years of previous work-related skill, knowledge or experience in construction is required.Experience should be directly related to Building Construction, Building Inspection, and Site civil construction inspection.Knowledge of requirements associated with OSHA 1910.269.Technical experience that has provided a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional applications of engineering techniques related to the field of construction.Experience demonstrating a solid understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to different branches of engineering.Ability to use computer, camera, telephone, and BPA VHF radio in the field.Demonstrated experience with the following : Safety StandardsElectrical PrinciplesGrounding Principles and Ground Potential Rise hazardsRiggingLoad Securement (DOT)Erosion Sediment ControlSpill Prevention Control and Counter Measures (SPCC)Identifying confined space hazardsIdentifying exposed live parts from other parts of electric equipmentIdentifying nominal voltage of exposed live partsIdentifying minimum approach distances corresponding to the voltagesIdentifying proper use of the special precautionary techniques, personal protective equipment, insulating and shielding materials, and insulated tools for working on or near exposed energized parts of electric equipmentReading and interpreting Contracts, Construction Drawings and Specifications.Valid 's License is required.First Aid / AED / CPR Certification required within 30 days of assignment start. Worker / Employer is responsible for maintaining current certification.Energized Facility Permit is required within one year of assignment start.
