Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Blaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting and finishing by utilizing various blasting techniques in a shipyard environment. This role is essential in ensuring that products meet quality standards and are ready for the next stage of production. The Blaster will work in a shipyard environment and may also be involved in fabrication, welding, and assembly tasks.
Duties
- Operate blasting equipment to clean, prepare, and finish surfaces of various materials.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed while operating equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on blasting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct quality checks on finished surfaces to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Engage in construction painting
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in blasting or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in industrial painting or boat painting is advantageous.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to adhere to safety standards and protocols at all times.
