- Purpose:
The Sales and Events Manager will solicit, negotiate, and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts to maximize revenues. The Sales and Events Manager will generate guest room and food & beverage revenue, manage accounts, and create high guest satisfaction for past and new business to meet and/or exceed revenue goals.
Essential Functions:
- Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communication.
- Consistently participate in the re-booking of repeat business by maintaining a track record of long-term client relationships.
- Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
- Seeks methods to penetrate key business activities within the marketplace and find profitable ways to bring business to the hotel. Research information on market and tends.
- Coordinate all details pertaining to the group rooming list to include room types, share rooms, room locations, room billing, etc.
- Coordinate all details on the Banquet Event Order with the Banquet and Food and Beverage teams.
- Meet clients on arrival and prior to departure to ensure all details of the contract are executed correctly.
- Ability to conduct successful site tours and pre-con meetings when required.
- Prepare and send requested proposals and contract to designate potential clients.
- Maintain active list of top accounts to ensure continuous relationship building activities. Top accounts should be contacted, visited, and entertained.
- Perform other services and duties as requested. May be called on to host functions and participate in, or conduct sales blitzes, travel and work extended hours to achieve departmental goals.
- Conduct/attend daily business review meetings, weekly strategic sales meetings, management meetings and other meetings as required/ requested.
- Achieve monthly room night goals, develop, and implement sales action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communications and to complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Participate in business review meetings, training and other sales related meetings as required.
- Represent the resort at trade shows, sales missions, and industry events.
- Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly Reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Attend all scheduled training sessions and meetings as required.
- Comply with all companys policies and procedures on a regular basis. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
- Manage/direct all advertising, public relations, and promotional activities
Qualifications:
At least three (3) years of previous hotel sales experience is required. Upscale to luxury hotel/resort experience strongly preferred. Excellent communication skills, strong customer service relations, organization and strong leadership skills strongly preferred. Proven sales track record.

Command of the English language both written and verbal. Well organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Always maintain a professional appearance and manner. Must be willing to pitch-in and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Ability to work beyond standard hours when necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the guests needs. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year hospitality experience.
