- Provides assistance and support to schools and central office staff with fiscal documentation, budget management and fiscal planning.
- Meets with accountants and other school staff to review school spending, fiscal documentation, grant requirements, and grant spending expectations.
- Corresponds with school-based, and central office personnel to correct and obtain documentation.
- Confers with accountants on the accuracy of formulas, rates of pay, salary projections, and other cost estimates in Budget Proposal Forms.
- Responds to questions regarding appropriate fiscal documents for expenditures and remaining funds in accounts.
- Updates budget tracking documents with data from the financial system. Processes financial transactions.
- Prepares position work documents in conjunction with accountants to ensure the accuracy of time and effort cost associated with the grant. Maintains a position inventory of grant funded positions.
- Compiles, stores and files completed fiscal documentation in appropriate location.
- Reviews reports of Title I expenditures at each school update the budget workbook for each school based grant.
- Attends and makes use of training opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of accounting clerical work and bookkeeping. Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Knowledge of personal computers and MS Office software applications, with a intermediate level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Experience with accounting software. Ability to work well independently.

REPORTS TO: Director, Title I
DEFINITION: Performs complex accounting clerical duties in support of the Office of Title I. Oversees and maintains fiscal records for Title I grant. Assists in the development of proposed budgets for allocations from Title I supplemental funding. Monitors expenditures to ensure compliance. Produces and reviews reports. Provides advice and guidance regarding Title I grant matters. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree or the completion of 60 college credits in accounting, business administration, or a related field.
Six years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal control work.
Experience with grant budget preparation process and monitoring of budget expenses is preferred.
Note: Other combinations of applicable education, training and experience that provide the knowledge and skills to perform effectively in the class may be considered.

The work of this class is generally sedentary and performed in a school. The employee will have one primary work location but will need to travel to other assigned locations periodically. Work includes the operation of office equipment.
