As a Credit Analyst / Commercial Lender Trainee, you will be exposed to all areas of the commercial lending process and to work alongside seasoned lending staff to develop the skills necessary to build a successful career in banking.

Ideal candidates should demonstrate a strong intellectual and analytical background and effective written and verbal communication skills. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required, with majors in finance or accounting preferred. Previous banking experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities:
- Work with various departments within the bank to learn all aspects of the industry with a focus on underwriting through analysis and modeling of credit data and financial information in order to identify, assess, manage, and monitor credit risks.
- Work as part of the loan review team to perform loan reviews.
- Work with the lending team to underwrite new loan requests and manage existing relationships.
- Collect and analyze supporting documentation, spread financial statements, prepare cash flow analysis, and prepare credit memorandums.
- Monitor compliance with loan agreements.
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets and reports for management.
- Review appraisals and prepare internal evaluations.
- Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank’s BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to completing compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and computer skills, especially with financial spreadsheets and word processing.
- Understanding of accounting principles and ability to interpret borrower financial statements.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Excellent business writing and professional communication skills.
- Desire to learn and pursue a career in the commercial banking profession.
