Position Summary
From concept to production, the Electronic Technician provides technical assistance to engineers during product development by defining, performing and analyzing test results within our Lighting department.
This position reports to Engineering Manager I -Lighting, and is located at Banner's global headquarters in Plymouth, MN.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Interpret electronic schematics, assembly drawings and other design and assembly documents
- Assemble prototypes and maintain associated test equipment or components
- Assist in conducting or witnessing performance tests, and analyze results to resolve performance-related issues
- Perform verification tests for functionality and/or quality to ensure the work performed correlates with expectations
- Accurately document test results, and record all deviations and modifications from the original design
- Troubleshoot product failures, and suggest improvement actions
- Collaborate with engineers to identify, define, or solve developmental product problems
- Generate reports based on findings as needed
- Low volume assembly work

Required
- Associate’s degree in electronics or related field; individuals currently pursuing an Associate’s degree in electronics or related field are encouraged to apply
Preferred
- Demonstrated experience in a similar field
- Basic experience using Microsoft Excel (data entry, simple functions, etc.)
- Experience in testing and development of electronic circuits and systems
- Experience using a variety of test and development equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters (DMMs), power supplies, etc.
- Experience in Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting technology, including LEDs, and switching regulators
- Experience troubleshooting designs for issues relating to functionality, performance, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
- Experience using an electronic design software such as Mentor Graphics
- Experience using prototyping platforms such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi
