Position Summary
In this role, you will incorporate both manufacturing engineering and industrial engineering techniques for all. In this role you’ll work closely with the Operations and R&D engineering teams to help enhance the implementation of Lean, error-proofing, and process improvements at our plants, as well as identifying further cost reductions without affecting our high quality. You’ll also help with documentation to ensure the critical parts, fixtures and equipment are identified and available to avoid manufacturing downtime.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform time-study analysis
- Examine production lines and help develop solutions to produce optimal flow while ensuring high quality standards and efficiencies
- Help design optimum production line flow to improve throughput on existing production lines, applying LEAN manufacturing principles
- Review current procedures for accuracy and work with manufacturing to make appropriate changes
- Create complete manufacturing process plans to facilitate LEAN, and single piece flow error-proof manufacturing
- Develop labor estimates, time standards, assembly drawings, routings, and procedural documentation
- Work with manufacturing to improve test procedures and links to test database
- Monitor and improve production quality
- Other duties as assigned

Required
- Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or Industrial Technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Preferred studies or background in applying LEAN practices
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
Travel
- Must be willing to travel to our manufacturing plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and Brooklyn Park, MN. Travel to Mexico will be an estimated 2-3 times during the internship.
