MRI Tech Assistant
Job Summary:
Assists the MRI technologists by transporting patients, cleaning rooms, and stocking supplies and linens. Learn how to perform MRI tech duties.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual’s job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are no mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
1. Assists the technologist by setting up the room for the exam and getting the patient into the exam room.
2. Cleaning up the room following the completion of the exam.
3. Stocking clean linen.
4. Disposal of dirty linen.
5. Assists with obtaining the patient history and documenting into Epic.
6. Assists with patients during procedures.
7. Assists Radiology Nurse in Triage with patient monitoring duties.
8. Transports patients.
9. Documents release of medical records in EHR when patients need copies of imaging and/or reports.
10. Completes procedure documentation in Epic for MRI exams.
11. Learn how to perform MRI duties
12. Assists MRI technologists with other procedures when needed
13. Carries out additional duties as required.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
- Current BCLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- High school graduate or equivalent
