GENERAL PURPOSE: Consulting Services Group, LLC (CSG) is a premier provider, bringing a new and unique level of subject matter expertise to clients, with a focus on intelligence, communication solutions, information technology, and logistics. We are seeking a unique individual to provide Systems Support to a variety of capabilities which this team supports. This work area is very broad with no two days being the same. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to learn a new technical skill by reading a manual or through distant learning to become a Subject Matter Expert. The ideal candidate would then be capable of documenting and training others in this newfound skill. This work is critical to our customers and requires someone capable of executing under pressure and willing to be flexible with their schedule to meet customer needs. This entry level position will be 100% at our corporate office in Herndon, VA. Competitive candidates will be self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn. Outstanding communication skills are a must (written and oral). You will have the opportunity to work independently to implement/lead projects and assigned work. Duties include working on teams responsible for making purchase recommendations, purchasing, maintenance, configuration, and deployment, and working with cell phones, laptops, web hosting, and the software supporting those systems. You will perform systems security functions, including user profiles and accounts. Maintaining system documentation will be a key assignment. Primary Responsibilities: Work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative.
Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope following detailed instructions.
Web hosting.
Virtual desktop management.
Navigate Windows 10 and 11 and the standard MS Office application
Work from Command Prompt.
Provide technical support to program employees for complex system issues or problems as well as mentor and cultivate fellow talented staff members.
Perform maintenance and patching on a routine basis at the host level to ensure optimal system performance, security, and compliance. Required Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Security Clearance
Solid writing skills.
Experience with HTML or PHP.
Strong demonstrated experience in learning new technology, ideally by picking up a manual and through distant learning.
Experience with application of technical standards, principles, and theories.
Experience in server administration and system administration.
Familiarity with Nutanix and VMware, as well as network routing and switching.

The following items are considered as nice-to-haves before starting, or must be learned within 12 months:
Practical experience with management and administration of Unix and Unix-like systems.
Understand and be able to troubleshoot these systems.
Practical experience with the development of shell scripts and Python scripts.
Primarily for Linux operating systems, but other Unix operating systems would be helpful.
Ability to develop, test, and execute these scripts with little to no help.
Practical experience with standard Unix/LINUX tools, such as VIM, SSH, etc.
Direct knowledge of Unix/LINUX security tools and logging systems.
Practical experience with all Elastic stack components.
Install an Elastic instance.
Use the Python client to write scripts to produce custom reports using the data stored in Elastic database.
Practical experience with Kubernetes deployments.
Education: Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in an IT related field with 0-2 years experience.
Certifications required: None Certifications desired: Any IT-related certifications will be a plus. Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment, requiring the use of computer terminals and standard office equipment to accomplish work objectives.
