Indirect Loan Underwriter

Job Description

• Reviews funded indirect loan documents to ensure that they are complete and adheres to underwriting policies. Opens new member accounts on funded indirect loans and books the new loan on the system.
• Monitors the queue for indirect loan applications. Analyzes a loan applicant's credit worthiness including an applicant's character, capacity, collateral, capital, and economic conditions. Reviews credit bureau reports and credit score. Verifies information included on a loan application. As necessary, makes the determination to approve or deny a loan.
• Establishes relationships and maintains a good rapport with the existing dealers in the indirect lending program, speaking with them on a regular basis to address concerns and establish good will.
• Maintains the Paid-Out Loan Report and releases E-titles and paper titles on Indirect loans daily. Completes letters of Guarantee and Satisfaction of Liens on Indirect loans when needed. Participates in the development and recommendation of the indirect lending policies, practices, and promotions.
• Assists in the training and development of branch lenders by offering assistance and guidance on loan decisions.
• Audits DMV documentation, collects fees, and processes paperwork to secure lien perfection.
• Demonstrates the Credit Union's Core Values (Service with an EDGE, Solutions, Adaptability, Respect, Accountability).
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Three to five years of similar or related experience.
• A high school education or GED.
• Full-time hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Some after hours and weekend work will be required.
