What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEDICAL ASSISTANT Full-time position at Baton Rouge Urology Group?
Our busy, fast-growing independently owned urology clinic is searching an experienced medical assistant who loves working with adults and children. We take pride in providing a friendly and compassionate experience for our patients at each visit. A warm and caring medical assistant to help provide that service is of utmost importance. Filling the role of assisting the provider in clinic along with being the contact person for provider calls, assisting with referrals, strong data entry into EMR and maintaining an efficient clinic flow are top priority for this position.
Candidates should be professional and punctual with a high work ethic, have a pleasant and friendly demeanor and be quick to adapt to changes in patient flow with seasonal illness and scheduling demands associated with urologic care.
- Certified/Licensed is a plus but not necessary
- At least one (1) years of experience medical office
- Experience required with EMR
- Competent with basic skills such as vital signs, administering injections, medications, documentation
- Able to perform duties as assigned
- Positive, coachable attitude with strong communication skills
- Able to multi-task and succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Professional demeanor, ability to work effectively with a team and be flexible
- Phlebotomy skills a plus
Ability to be compassionate at all times towards patients and staff members alike
