Position: Registered Nurse (LTC)
Location: Pleasant Ridge Manor, 8300 W Ridge Rd, Girard, PA 16417
Contract Length: 15 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 38 hours per week
Pay: $52/hr for local candidates
Shift: 2:45 PM - 7:00 AM (Saturday/Sunday), plus one 8-hour shift during the week
Shift Length: 8, 16 hours

Facility Overview:

• Charting System: Paper
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): PCC

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage RN, LPN, and CNA staff across shifts, focusing on evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Monitor residents’ conditions, coordinate outside services, and communicate with MD/NP for resident needs.
• Perform specialized care, including central line management, chest tube care, IV starts, admission orders, and fall assessments.
• Wound Care: Measure wounds (assessment/staging by NP).
• Medication Management: Administer Lasix, Bumex, and antibiotics.
• Serve as a building supervisor during evenings and nights, ensuring smooth facility operations.

Patient Demographics:

• Long-term care, skilled, rehab, and dementia residents aged 18 and above.
• Hospice care in-house with two dedicated hospice rooms.

Staffing and Ratios:

• Days: 3 Nurse Managers (oversee 2 units each), 1 Nurse Manager on weekends.
• Evenings/Nights: RN Supervisor 2 additional nurses per unit (LPN/RN). If fully staffed, units may have 1 Charge Nurse, 1 Med Nurse, and 1 Treatment Nurse.
• Nights: 1 RN Supervisor per unit (as staffing allows) and 1 floor nurse per unit.

Required Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• RN License (Compact or state-specific)

Experience and Certifications:

• Preferred Experience: Prior PCC experience, ability to measure wounds, familiarity with Lasix and Bumex IV administration.
• Specialized Knowledge: Must be capable of managing central lines, chest tubes, and other advanced nursing tasks.

Interdisciplinary Team:

• Team includes PT, OT, SLP, Case Managers, Social Workers, and Dieticians.
• Limited respiratory therapy available (CPAP, BiPAP, O2 therapy; no ventilator patients).
