RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Alarm / Video / CCTV Field Technician, you will work in projects that include system and device install, programming and configuration, test and optimize, repairs and preventative maintenance inspections, and service a variety of IP based security systems, and equipment including access control, video, and alarm type applications. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, be motivated, be customer service oriented, possess a willingness to learn, and be reliable. The Field Technician will interface directly with the end customer; therefore, a professional attitude and appearance are vital.
RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to)
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve equipment problems and software application issues with customers in a positive and efficient manner.
- Configure, test, and optimize video and access control type security systems, and integrate these into automated alert and messaging systems.
- Configure and test network infrastructure required for system interface and user access.
- Configure multiple software applications as an integrator to facilitate technical solutions product delivery.
- Manage and deploy factory software/firmware updates.
- Conduct annual preventative maintenance tests and create detailed reports for customer review and update all related log files.
- Conduct site walks and participates in presale quoting of video and access control type security systems, integrate these into automated alert and messaging systems.
- Stage and deploy computer server infrastructure and related software applications.
- Interfaces with the Project Manager regarding on-site scheduling of work activities and timely delivery of system testing and final submittal documentation.
- Provide oversight of communications equipment and peripheral hardware installation as a team lead.
- Deliver and execute customer Functional Acceptance Test Plans (FATP), perform and document results of site surveys and assessments per defined customer requirements in pre-sales delivery and post-installation.
- Work with account teams and project teams to prepare quotes, bids, and schedules for completing installation and repair tasks.
- Prepares written reports and communicates verbally with customers as well as with 3rd party vendor representatives, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Create project documentation as requested by the project manager.
- Train technicians on troubleshooting and repair procedures and best practices.
- Maintain SME knowledge of system solutions through training and research.
- Participate in other lines of business technical solutions, such as wireless communications systems, wireless data networks, and enhanced coverage BDA/DAS networks.
- Some travel and on-call hours will be required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of Service Technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, installing and commissioning video and access control type systems.
- Reads blueprints, schematics, system design diagrams, wiring diagrams and can utilize all information in the troubleshooting and repair of electronic systems.
- Proficiency in operating various test equipment including but not limited to, utility software applications, network testers, and multi-meters.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Prefer an Alarm License certification.
- Prefer two or more computer or computer networking certifications: examples listed (CompTIA A , Network , Security ), (ETA-I CST, NCT, ICT, NST, WNT), (Cisco CCNA or prerequisite Cisco certification)
- Preferred knowledge: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent, or military training in electronics.
- Preferred Experience with Avigilon or similar video and access control security systems.
- Security Clearance preferred.
- Team driven individual in a dynamic work environment, self-driven to perform even without outside direction.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Drug screenings and background checks are part of the hiring process which may also include a Motor Vehicle Record check.
