JOB DESCRIPTION Bedford County Bedford, PA

Status: Part-time, 20 hours per week

Classification: Non-Exempt Pay Scale/Grade/Salary: Approved by salary board

JOB SUMMARY:

A housekeeping position will maintain a clean, sanitary, comfortable and tidy environment for a commercial establishment.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, transport trash and other waste to disposal areas, works under general supervision, and other work areas so that standards are met; and does related work as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Illustrative Only)

· sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors

· vacuum carpets, rugs and draperies

· dust and polish furniture and fittings

· clean metal fixtures and fittings

· empty and clean trash containers; dispose of trash in a sanitary manner

· clean wash basins, mirrors and sanitize areas, deodorize rest rooms and replenish supplies

· wipe down glass surfaces, wash windows as scheduled

· tidy up rooms, overall housecleaning tasks

· operate mechanized cleaning equipment

· maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition

· monitor and report necessary repairs and replacements

· other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods

· knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials

· working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment

· physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend

· ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 50lbs)
