Activities Coordinator

*Job Overview* As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities for residents in long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, nursing homes, or memory care units. Your role will focus on enhancing the quality of life for residents through recreational therapy and social interactions. *Duties* - Develop and coordinate a diverse range of activities to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents - Organize events such as games, outings, arts and crafts, music therapy sessions, and exercise programs - Collaborate with staff to integrate activities that promote cognitive stimulation and emotional well-being - Maintain activity calendars and ensure documentation of resident participation - Assess individual resident preferences and needs to tailor activities accordingly - Provide support for residents with dementia or memory care needs - Offer counseling on aging issues and facilitate support groups for residents and families *Qualifications* - Previous experience in event planning or recreational therapy within a long-term care setting - Knowledge of dementia care practices and experience working with memory care residents - Understanding of the physical and emotional needs of seniors in assisted living or nursing home environments - Certification in recreational therapy or related field is a plus - Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
