Assistant Athletic Trainer – Belmont Abbey College
Belmont Abbey College, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Conference Carolinas, invites
applications for the current position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time, ten-month appointment
beginning ASAP. Sport assignments are to be determined. Some travel is required as well as work on weekends
(except most Sundays and Catholic Holy Days of Obligation) and some civil holidays. The successful candidate will
demonstrate a positive attitude for the college athletic training environment, a strong work ethic, flexibility,
creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment. They will also be able to
work independently as well as a part of the athletic training department as a whole. Some additional
administrative duties may be assigned and the candidates will be expected to assist with institutional drug testing,
athletic insurance claim filing, facility upkeep, timely injury documentation, and to stay current with evidence
based medicine practices and NCAA sports medicine policies. Knowledge of or prior use of Sportsware by CSMi is
preferred and candidates are expected to be able to use the Google suite of products (Sheets, Docs, Calendar,
Forms, etc.)
Minimum qualifications for this position are as follows:
Bachelor’s degree or Entry Level Master’s degree in Athletic Training
NATABOC Certified
Current NC Licensure or eligible
Current CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification
Preference will be given to those candidates who can demonstrate a vision in the interaction with and
development of student-athletes that fits well with the institution’s mission and character as a distinctively
Catholic and Benedictine college that views sport as a means of developing virtue.
