Account Manager for Creative, Dynamic Design Studio

We are a nationally recognized sculpture design studio with blue-chip clients located across the globe. We specialize in creating high-end custom awards. Our design studio is a dynamic, creative, and flexible work environment located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills in Placerville, CA.
Position Overview
We are looking for an Account Manager to work with clients from initial inquiry through project completion. There are both pre-sales and post-sales components to this role. From a pre-sales perspective, you will be responsible for responding to potential clients when they make a purchase inquiry via phone or email, assessing their needs, and then developing a specific quote/proposal that meets these requirements. From a post-sales perspective, you will serve as a project manager to ensure that the client’s award project gets produced and delivered on time and on budget. This will entail working with clients, designers, and outside production vendors.
The successful candidate must have previous sales experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills and be extremely client-service oriented. The candidate should also be outgoing and comfortable being proactive in their interactions with both potential and existing clients. Additionally, given the nature of our work, they should have an excellent eye for design. Finally, the candidate must be very organized and detail oriented.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a base pay of $22/hour. After a three-month probationary period, employees will be eligible for paid vacation and participation in the company’s profit-sharing program.
Work Schedule
Approximately 30 hours per week to start; may expand as candidate gains experience. The job will require on-site work from 9am – 4pm Monday through Thursday. Some work from home may be required on Fridays depending on lead volume and workload.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from initial inquiry all the way through production, shipment, and payment.
- Respond to inbound client inquiries received via phone and email.
- Work with clients to understand their specific requirements.
- Work with designers and manufacturers to develop client proposals.
- Ensure projects stay on schedule. Interface with clients and suppliers to make sure all components of the project are on track.
- Support Account Directors and senior Account Managers on a variety of project-related tasks, including packaging, pick-ups, deliveries, and updating electronic applications and documents.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Very organized; detail oriented; strong project management skills.
- Previous sales and/or client service experience.
- High-energy, positive, “can-do” attitude.
- Able to maintain a positive demeanor while working under pressure.
- Keen eye for good design.
- Reliable and dependable.
- Computer-savvy (particularly the Google Suite and MS Office/Excel).
- Bachelor of Arts degree strongly preferred.
