Job Summary:

The Estimator receives invitation to bids (ITB) and prepares take-offs and proposals to determine the cost and profit associated with completing the scope of the project. The Estimator is responsible for preparing material takeoffs and lists, preparing cost estimates, communicating with customers, and submitting any necessary RFI. The Estimator plays a key role in supporting the bidding process, ensuring competitiveness, and contributing to the overall success of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Bid Management

• Filter and manage all emails in estimating@bergolla.com as well as personal company email
• Record, organize, and maintain ITB’s in Procore’s “Bid Board” for monitoring and review.
• Maintain Bergolla’s “Customer List” to see which companies to provide bids
• Populate the appropriate admin fields when creating ITBs.
• Change and update due dates and project information as needed in Procore’s “Estimate Overview” in the “Bid Board” daily.
  
  

Bid Packages, Revisions

• Maintain and update the “Cost Catalog” in Procore to maintain inventory of material as needed
• Prepare take-offs in Procore’s “Bid Board”
• Prepare estimate on or before Due Dates to accommodate customer bid requirements
• Ensure that the Bid package is uploaded to Procore and includes the material takeoff, proposal, and all appropriate drawings in the correct order.
• Review all RFIs, Addendums, and Revisions and make any necessary changes to existing bids.
  
  

Communication

• Respond to customer emails and phone calls in a timely manner
• Document all communications involving customer projects using email or RFI’s and provide daily log reports in Procore as needed.
• If needed for larger jobs, communicate with Project Manager when jobs are awarded and assist with explanation of materials
  
  

Specific Duties:

• 8am – 5pm with an hour lunch from noon-1pm
• must be able to read a set of Construction Documents proficiently
• be able and willing to communicate in English with customers – verbally and written
• must be organized and detailed
• be able to research and understand how each ceiling or wall system is installed
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience as a Drywall Estimator in the construction industry. 5 years minimum.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations.
• Strong development of estimating, communication, financial, analysis, budgeting, purchasing, negotiating and computer skills are required BIM is a plus.
• Company conducts post-offer, pre-employment drug screening, background check, and Motor Vehicle Report.
