BEST Services LLC is Hiring a Center Director Near Washington, DC

Happy Faces Early Learning(HFELA) is seeking a motivated childcare professional to join our team as aCenter Director. Under general supervision of the Head of Schools, the Center Directoroperates the center in conformance with center policies, theOffice of State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), procedures and TheNational Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation. The incumbent will work closely with executiveleadership and center staff to maintain a passionate and nurturing culture for childrenand supporting teachers in implementing a hands-on curriculum.

1.Provideday-to-day leadership and management that mirrors the organization’s missionand core values.

a.Plan, develop, schedule, and/or provide in-servicetraining and evaluation of child care staff.

b.Confer with parents on a regular basis to discussthe development of their enrolled children.

c.Assist staff in preparing for and presenting earlychildhood programs and activities; direct the organization and follow-up onspecial activities; assist as necessary with duties of instructionalassistants.

d.Collaborate with the senior management to ensurecenter advancement.

2.Ensure that the center and staff conform tofederal, state, and local rules, regulations, and licensing requirements.

a.Interface with partner agencies to ensure qualitycontrol and program success.

b.Ensure that an educational program accountabilitysystem is in place that aligns instruction with legal requirements andcontractual performance standards.

3.Develop and implement program operating policiesand activities as required; develop cost estimates for future program needs.

a.Develop master schedule and coordinate schedulingprocess to ensure contractual and financial compliance.

b.Ensure that problems encountered by staff areresolved; alter policies or procedures to ensure smooth operation of program.

4.Perform recruitment efforts to attract talent andchildren.

a.Recruit and schedule children for the center;maintain accurate records on children enrolled in the program to include theirdevelopment, attendance, immunization and general health; conduct programregistration, and maintain appropriate files and waiting lists.

b.Attract, recruit, train, engage and motivate staffmembers.

c.Proficiently engage and work with wrap aroundservices.

d.Must have a business acumen that includes maintainingan understanding of working within budget constraints.

Qualifications

·Bachelor’sDegree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.

·Minimum of three(3) years’ experience teaching infants, toddlers and/or preschoolers in alicensed childcare facility with at least one (1) years’ experience in amanagement role.

·Knowledge of OSSE and NAEYC standards is required.

·Must be able to demonstrate successful completion training,licensing and certification requirements.

·Must havedemonstrated knowledge of current early childhood education policies,procedures, trends, curriculum and development.

·Must beproficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

WorkingConditions

This position operatesin an early learning childcare environment. The incumbent will interact withchildren of varied ages and parents/guardians daily. The incumbent will beexposed to outdoor weather conditions daily.

PhysicalRequirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequentlysit, stand, bend, walk, run, jump, and reach. The incumbent must frequently liftto 40 lbs. and stand up to 95% of their shift. Specific vision abilitiesrequired by this position include peripheral, close and distance vision toproperly monitor children. The noise level in the work environment is typicallyloud.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers,phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
