Location: Based out of Southampton, PA with travel required to Bethanna offices (Philadelphia and Suburbs), travel reimbursement included
Schedule: Monday through Friday ( 9 am to 5 pm), 1 night shift and 1 Saturday shift required per month, hybrid schedule (2 days in office/3 days work from home)
Salary: $45,000 per year
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Training Specialist shall be responsible for the following duties (other duties may be assigned):
Development of Training Programs:
- In coordination with the Training Manager, perform annual training needs assessment surveys to ensure that all critical training needs are being met for each program.
- In coordination with the Training Manager, assist in the development of comprehensive training curricula for each program that addresses program needs and is designed to improve treatment outcomes. Training curricula will include evidence-based treatment models and philosophies.
- Ensure that required training topics (CPR, First Aid, Cultural Competency, etc.) are provided on a regular basis and scheduled in a manner that allows attendance for Workforce Members, Resource and Adoptive parents.
- Utilize the latest training techniques in the field of adult education; coordinate updated strategies with the Training Manager.
- Administer Pre and Post Tests for each training curriculum, as required, to assist with measuring effectiveness of training materials and ensuring that the material is attained.
- Elicit feedback from trainees on completed training topics to support an effective and user-friendly training program.
- As directed, organize and instruct the Workforce Members who will assist with set up, registration, taping, clean up, etc. for each training.
- Communicate training content, dates offered, and required audience using a variety of communication methods (email, poster, etc.) to ensure Workforce Members are aware of all required and scheduled training events.
- Communicate equipment malfunction or other practical training support issues to the Maintenance Department and other department heads. Ensure equipment and other issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Documentation/ Correspondence/ Tracking of Training Hours:
- Work with Training Manager to create and distribute to all resource/adoptive parents’ calendars, registration forms, and letters describing upcoming trainings.
- Track registration within the structure of the training software.
- Work with Training Manager to complete a monthly utilization, listing the trainer, the topic, the number registered for the training, the number of people who attended the training, and the department who sponsored the training.
- In coordination the Quality Assurance Specialist, assist with management of the training software to document and track training hours and required topics for all Workforce Members and Resource/Adoptive parents.
- Support new Workforce Member orientation to the agency by meeting with them individually and conveying a comprehensive overview of their training requirements during orientation and thereafter.
- Maintain a comprehensive training software that includes every department, all required training topics, dates offered, time allotted, and attendance records.
- In coordination with Quality Assurance Specialist and Training Manager, ensure that the training software is complete and accurate prior to all agency audits.
Other Related Duties:
- Manage the training library, including the tracking of all videos, books, and other materials checked out of the library. Add new relevant materials to the library.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, preferably in the field of Education, Business Administration, Social Work, or other relevant degree.
- At least one year experience providing training, creating training curricula, and coordinating/ scheduling events.
- Experience using various training media is preferred.
