Position Summary:
The Safety Supervisor will lead our safety program by developing and enforcing health and safety policies, conducting comprehensive job site inspections, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and fostering a culture of workplace safety. This role will collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and employees to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct thorough safety inspections and audits at job sites to ensure compliance with OSHA, maritime safety standards, and company regulations.
- Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and injuries; develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Lead and facilitate safety training, toolbox talks, and ongoing employee safety education.
- Maintain comprehensive safety records, including incident reports, training logs, and inspection reports.
- Ensure employees and subcontractors use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with HR, project managers, and field supervisors to address safety concerns and drive continuous improvements.
- Keep up to date with industry safety regulations and implement best practices to maintain compliance and enhance workplace safety.
- Act as the primary point of contact for workers' compensation injury reporting and claims management.
- Lead emergency response efforts and ensure proper procedures are in place for crisis situations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in construction or marine industries.
- Proficiency in computer applications and safety software such as SafeSite.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and maritime safety standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively train employees and enforce safety policies.
- Proven ability to conduct site audits, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
- Experience leading incident investigations and developing comprehensive reports.
- Certification in OSHA 30
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
Work Environment:
- Work in various weather conditions, exposed to loud noises, harmful materials, and dangerous machinery.
- Be available for overtime, night shifts, and weekends.
- Flexibility to travel as needed.
Eligibility:
- Must have a state or federal issued ID.
- Authorized to work in the USA.
- Must be cleared to travel across the United States as needed.
- Must produce clear background screening.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen & physical.
