Security Systems Engineer – Retail POS Operations

About the Role
We’re seeking a Security Systems Engineer to take ownership of security operations, deployments, and technical support for retail point-of-sale (POS) systems. This role bridges security findings and practical solutions, requiring hands-on troubleshooting, analysis, and deployment execution.
What You’ll Do
- Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to streamline security findings and provide actionable solutions.
- Analyze security vulnerabilities and document recommended fixes alongside deployment processes.
- Manage lab and production release activities: plan, coordinate, and report status while enhancing telemetry for deployment insights.
- Provide on-site technical support in the Seattle Lab, troubleshoot errors, and assist during testing and overnight deployments.
What You Bring
- 4 years of experience in security operations, deployment management, or incident response.
- Expertise with retail point-of-sale (POS) hardware environments.
- Hands-on experience supporting Windows and Android operating systems, including Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLAN.
- Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell or Python.
- Experience with tools like Microsoft Configuration Manager, Splunk, and Qualys.
- Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
- Bonus: Experience with AWS/Azure, Onspring, or New Relic.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while balancing priorities.
- Flexibility to support overnight deployments when required.
