What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Administrator position at BHDP Architecture?
Position Purpose: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, hardware/software, and servers while continuously improving and keeping up with the IT business needs of the firm and limiting work disruptions internally.
Position Qualifications:
- Must have proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role, with a solid understanding of both LAN and WAN networks.
- 1-2 years of experience with PowerShell scripting.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in/with the following:
- Troubleshooting Windows, Mac, and Windows Server software and hardware
- Microsoft Operating systems, including Windows 7 ,10, Server 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019
- Microsoft Active directory and directory services.
- Experience with Imaging and software deployment technologies.
- Office 365 administration and Intune experience.
Specific Demands of Position: Special projects may run outside of normal business hours.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Technology to support the development of the firm’s Technology vision with new, innovative ideas.
- Manage technology infrastructure, including networking equipment, servers, with minimal downtime.
- Manage effective technology security and virus protection.
- Manage storage, directories, and digital archives, as well as backups of the same.
- Perform application upgrades in accordance with vendor recommendations.
- Patch Servers in accordance with technology procedures.
- Assist the Director of Technology in managing the support of uptime and customer service, as well as the development of the technology staff.
- Build relationships with internal clients and Key Technology contacts.
- Lead proactive communication and education to BHDP staff related to technology services, including teaching Baxter U classes in expertise and project focus areas.
- Coordinate technology training for new employees.
- Support efforts to maintain cost efficiency in the Technology budget.
- Research and test new technology that aligns with business needs and make recommendations to the Director of Technology for future technology upgrades.
- Be active in the SMARTwork initiative by driving action and communicate implementation processes to the teams.
- Support the onboarding and off boarding of employees including assignment or removal of security, hardware, software and peripherals.
- Lead the support of the firm with continuous and efficient technology service delivery by monitoring and responding to service requests and incidents, within a defined expectation.
- Collaborate with the Technology Manager to develop and maintain IT processes and procedures.
- Provide excellent troubleshooting skills and strong communication skills both written and oral.
