A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR
As an Activities Director you'll plan, develop, organizing and implementing of the activity program and supervise the Activities Aides. You create a weekly activity calendar for residents of different functioning levels. You may also be asked to escort residents with field trips whenever necessary.
As required, you keep accurate records for each resident you work with and report any changes in a resident's condition to the nursing department immediately. With patience and a calm demeanor, you treat those you care for just the way you would want your own family members treated. You go home each day feeling good about the positive impact you have made in the lives of so many in your community.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR
- Certified, registered or licensed therapeutic recreation specialist or occupational therapists
