RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our company is looking for a Shop Hand / Facilities Assistant to be responsible for handling both shop and office support for the team with any and all needs as they arise. Tasks range from keeping the shop clean and in order, inventory management, managing test equipment and reordering inventory as needed, assembling various items, helping moving heavy equipment around, shipping and receiving packages, communication needs, errands, deliveries to customers, organizing, plus various other takes, etc.
Office support involves but not limited to shipping and receiving packages,, managing files, updating paperwork and other documents, phone calls, and performing other general office clerk duties as needed. Write clearly and be proficient with Microsoft Office applications and general knowledge of working and using computers. A pleasing personality with the ability to work well with others is highly valued.
SHOP DUTIES:
- Shop organization
- Inventory management of supplies
- Lifting and moving equipment in shop (light small to very very heavy)
- Running functional tests on equipment for new and used devices
- Cleaning equipment
- Moving shelving, building shelves, rearranging equipment
- Inventory of equipment and Parts
- Errands
- Equipment deliveries for both pickup and drop offs
- Helping manage records and system database if and as needed.
- Data entry, building checklists if and as needed.
- Helping answer the phone and take calls if and as needed.
- Researching part numbers, contacting vendors
- Updating paperwork, maintaining documents and word processing, Excel.
- Helping organize and maintain office/shop in common areas.
- Sweeping, mopping, throwing trash away,
- Helping maintain a supplied inventory.
- Maintaining test equipment device records & calibrations as needed.
- Experience as an assistant and supporting role
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

- The position involves work including lifting, bending, walking, standing, kneeling and if needed driving for a considerable length of time.
- The use of dollies or other equipment is mandatory when moving heavy-weight items. May be required to infrequently lift items weighing up to 50-75 lbs. as high as 5 feet or 95 lbs as high as a countertop.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided by the company.
- The work environment is typically in the office/shop, air temperature controlled with normal noise levels. May be asked to work in various outdoor elements at times or if ever needed for pick-up / delivery / loading equipment.
SUPERVISION:
- Employee(s) will be closely supervised and trained during the first 1-2 month evaluation period(s) while transitioning to work independently with supervision.
EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:
- High school diploma/G.E.D. or associate's degree preferred but not required (we encourage students to apply).
- A valid Driver's License issued in the employee’s state of residence and a clean driving record required.
- Any certifications or degrees a plus
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 0 – 1 year related experience.
- Prior experience in a similar setting or in a medical technical setting a plus..
- Manual dexterity and analytical thinking skills are required
- Ability to write clearly and help with word processing when necessary.
- Must be teachable.
- Ability to work well under limited supervision.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Great verbal and written communication skills with the ability to comprehend and communicate in the English language.
- Computer literacy with the ability to navigate through common operating systems, Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, and our computerized management databases (after training), and modern digital-related systems.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, including overnight travel if ever needed.
