Located in the Watsonville-Salinas area of Monterey County, we are a pharmaceutical startup that has been licensed by the DEA to produce Schedule I substances in a highly regulated and secure environment. Our focus is the cultivation of federally legal cannabis for drug development and research. Overview:
The Chemist is a qualified and experienced laboratory chemist with a general understanding of laboratory processes and analytical procedures. The chemist must be familiar with extraction, fractional distillation, crystallization and other chemical purification techniques. Experience with small molecule chromatography (HPLC/UPLC or GC) is desirable. Experience with botanical extracts is desirable. Experience in a GMP environment is desirable.

Responsibilities:
- Operation and PM of laboratory extraction and purification equipment.
- Performs routine purification using validated methods.
- Participates in the development of new extraction and purification methods.
- Participates in chromatographic analysis of small molecules.
- General laboratory operation, ordering and organization.
- Conforms to quality system and relevant SOPs
- Performs other tasks as required.
Required Education, Qualification and Skills:
- Experience (2 years) with extraction and purification of small molecules is required.
- Eagerness to learn new methods and instrumentation is required.
- A willingness and ability to precisely follow SOPs is required.
- Experience with chromatographic techniques (HPLC or GC) is highly desired

Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
