Description
You are responsible for assisting a Dog Trainer and/or Senior Dog Trainer in all aspects of delivering training services at your assigned locations. This includes performing group classes, train and play sessions, and private lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing New Dog Integrations, Behavior Evaluations, and Walk Assessments
- Performing group classes, private lessons and Train and Play Sessions
- Following up directly with clients on the details of their dog’s behavior (whether results from training services or otherwise)
- Communicating the behavior needs of dogs to all relevant staff
- Training associates on recognizing key dog behavior in order to create a safe and fun environment for all dogs
- Driving revenue (both training and otherwise) from clients based on their dog’s behavior needs
- Documenting in detail all client communications and dog observations into PetShop
- Learning communication techniques to become an effective client advocate
- Studying and reading about dog behavior through resources in company library
- Assisting at off-site events
Salary: $16.00/ hour
Qualifications
- Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one-year experience working with and / or handling dogs in a professional setting.
- Must own an iPhone or Android device.
- Knowledge of Biscuits & Bath and a genuine interest in the well-being of dogs.
- Ability to learn about and understand each dog as an individual with his or her own personality traits, good and bad habits, past experiences, etc.
- Ability to juggle a variety of responsibilities, while balancing competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills.
- High degree of independent decision-making and problem-solving capability.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Must be physically fit to lift dogs 50lb , bend, kneel, stand for long periods of time and perform requirements of the job.
- Ability to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to pass a thorough background check.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Word) and Internet savvy.
