Summary (Position Description): The Quality Inspector will check the quality of all incoming material and products. They will advocate for a Quality approach in all that they do. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential. The goal is to ensure that our compressors are made of fully compliant materials. That way, our customers will enjoy a high-quality product so that we can achieve long-term success.
Reports To: Quality Compliance Manager
Pay: $20-$24 per hour
Duties and Tasks:
- Read blueprints and instructions to assess the quality expectations for the product and supplies.
- Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.)
- Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
- Perform sort, rework, and quarantine of non-conforming material
- Use automated systems to perform complex testing procedures
- Maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.
- Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and report any that doesn’t meet requirements
- Prepare and submit reports to the Quality Compliance Manager
- Other duties as assigned by Quality Compliance Manager

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
· Advanced knowledge of Engineering drawing and GD&T
· Can operate a CMM independently
· Data acquisition systems experience required
· Knowledge of general inspection methods and gages required
· Unigraphics and/or AutoCAD a plus
· Calypso experience required
· Gage and tool design experience a plus
· SAP experience a plus
· Ability to work effectively in a group or team environment
Requirements:
- Associates degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of layout/measurement techniques, using CMM’s, surface plate, and hand instruments
- Ability to effectively meet and communicate with employees and vendors.
- Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion and sound judgment.
- Solid PC skills using Microsoft Office software, as well as a working knowledge of general office equipment (photocopier, fax machine, phones.)
- Good written communication skills and effective organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in the organization.
Work Environment:
· This job is performed in a professional office environment and a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; bend; stoop; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds
