Robotic Welding - Entry Level

Works Typically Monday – Thursday 6 am – 4:30 pm and some Fridays on overtime.

Starting at $18.00 per hour. Additional $1 per hour after weld certification.

Summary (Position Description): This position is most a robotic welder operator on the assembly line and will involve the set-up, programming, and operation of one or more robotic weld machines in the production of scroll compressors. The person must be willing to train and get weld certification in order to Tac weld.

Reports To: Shift Supervisor

Status: Full time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Duties & Tasks

• Setup and operation of Panasonic welding equipment
• Setup and operation of PX top shell & separator plate welding equipment
• Annual weld certification for TAC and seam welding
• TPM of weld equipment, to include wire changes, liner replacements, nozzle cleaning and replacement
• Ensure production welds meet specifications
• Perform BIPROS cleanings on equipment and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Identify and report problems with equipment to Manager and Maintenance
• Follow all prescribed and standard SAFETY regulations
• Ability to work with your hands
• Ability to handle work pieces up to 50 pounds
• Work with Manufacturing Engineers to improve weld process control, reduce costs, and develop process improvements and/or process changes due to product changes.
• Accurately complete production and quality documentation both written and electronic
• Other duties as assigned by management

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

• Willingness to be trained and certified in TIG welding.
• Technical background is preferred but not required
• Mechanical hobbies are a plus but not required
• Knowledge of mechanics is preferred but not required

Requirements:

• Ability to effectively meet and communicate with employees, the public and vendors
• Mechanically and computer inclined-no machining experience needed.
• Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion and sound judgment
• Good written communication skills and effective organizational skills
• Ability to work collectively with others within the organization

Work Environment:

This job is performed in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee constantly is required to stand; walk; bend; stoop; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and 30 or more pounds on a regular basis.
