- Manage case files and maintain document management systems for easy access and organization.
- Assist team in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, evidence, and witness information.
- Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings while managing team calendars effectively.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel professionally and efficiently.
- File documents with courts electronically or in person as required by local rules.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards in all tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a law firm.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, especially related to contract law, personal injury law, and workers' compensation law.
- Proficiency in using legal software such as PCLaw and document management systems.
- Strong skills in legal drafting with attention to detail for accuracy in written communications.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong research skills with the ability to utilize tools like Lexis-Nexis effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
