Director of Campus Safety

Blackburn College, a unique four-year liberal arts college with a student-managed work program located in Carlinville, IL, seeks applications for the position of Director of Campus Safety. The Director of Campus Safety will serve as a professional staff member in the Office of Student Life under the supervision of the Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students. The Director will be responsible for the safety of Blackburn College campus along with faculty, staff, students and guests. It is strongly recommended that the Director of Safety lives in close proximity to the Blackburn College campus.

A Bachelor’s degree and prior work experience in law enforcement or security field is required. The successful candidate must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to lead when encountering stressful situations. In addition, the successful candidate will have a working knowledge of best practices for student success and development; strong organizational skills; and a proven commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The salary range for this position will be $58,000-$64,000. The final salary offered will depend on the individual's years of related work experience and whether the education qualifications are met.
