Job Summary:
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors. This role involves monitoring premises, controlling access, and responding to any security incidents or emergencies in a professional and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Access Control: Monitor and control access points to ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
- Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the property, both interior and exterior, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, unauthorized activity, or safety hazards.
- Surveillance: Operate security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarms, and other surveillance equipment, to monitor activities within and around the facility.
- Incident Response: Respond to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents promptly and in accordance with company protocols. Take appropriate actions to manage the situation, including contacting law enforcement if necessary.
- Reporting: Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken in a detailed and accurate manner. Prepare reports as required by management.
- Customer Service: Provide assistance to clients, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Offer directions, answer inquiries, and help resolve any security-related issues.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety and security policies and procedures. Report any safety hazards or violations to the appropriate authorities.
- Emergency Procedures: Familiarize oneself with the company's emergency procedures and participate in regular drills and training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
- Licensing: Must possess or be able to obtain a valid security officer license as required by the state.
- Skills:
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in using security equipment and technology.
