Security Officer

Job Summary:

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors. This role involves monitoring premises, controlling access, and responding to any security incidents or emergencies in a professional and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Access Control: Monitor and control access points to ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
• Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the property, both interior and exterior, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, unauthorized activity, or safety hazards.
• Surveillance: Operate security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarms, and other surveillance equipment, to monitor activities within and around the facility.
• Incident Response: Respond to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents promptly and in accordance with company protocols. Take appropriate actions to manage the situation, including contacting law enforcement if necessary.
• Reporting: Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken in a detailed and accurate manner. Prepare reports as required by management.
• Customer Service: Provide assistance to clients, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Offer directions, answer inquiries, and help resolve any security-related issues.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety and security policies and procedures. Report any safety hazards or violations to the appropriate authorities.
• Emergency Procedures: Familiarize oneself with the company's emergency procedures and participate in regular drills and training sessions.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
• Licensing: Must possess or be able to obtain a valid security officer license as required by the state.
• Skills:
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency in using security equipment and technology.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift or carry up to [insert weight] pounds.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
