In addition, a School Counselor is expected to :
Deliver individual and group counseling services to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral health and well being.
Works with school-based response team to support and respond to scholar behavior as determined by school leadership team
Provide ongoing consultation to students, teachers, parents, and administration with respect to learning differences, social- emotional development, emotional literacy, behavioral functioning, and conflict resolution.
Assist teachers and staff to develop and implement differentiated instruction and classroom management practices that meet individual student needs.
Implement and maintain an inclusive model of service delivery through cooperation, collaboration, and partnerships with school based administrators, teachers, parents, and students.
Lead school culture programming and staff committees for school-wide behavior and scholar support
Plan and lead professional development in conjunction with school leadership team on scholar support and behavior management for teachers and staff
Qualifications :
RI Certification as a School Counselor by start date
Experience in diverse public school preferred
Bilingual candidates preferred
CPI certification or willingness to participate in training preferred
Compensation Range :
Refer to the Teacher STEP Scale
