Job Summary
- Performs a variety of skilled and unskilled duties in the kitchen, in the dishwashing room, or in the dining room.
- May assist in cutting, peeling, and washing of fruit and vegetables.
- Responsible for the delivery of food trucks to the units or to the dining room; collect these trucks when ready for return to the kitchen.
- Wash pots and pans, remove trash, and wash floors daily.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen work area, equipment, and dining room tables and chairs.
Qualifications
- EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent
- TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Food service training is desirable but not necessary. On-the-job training will be provided.
- ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Good physical and mental health. Finger and hand dexterity. Visual and auditory acuity. Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs., and be able to carry objects. Must be able to push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit and stand. Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate. Must use good body mechanics. Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks in cooperation with other dietary personnel.
