What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Maintenance Technician in Group 5 Section position at Blue Bell Creameries?
Blue Bell Creameries has three plants of which manufacture ice cream. We currently have opportunities for Facilities Maintenance Technicians to join our Group 5 evening shift team at the Brenham, TX location. The candidates should have great attention to detail, work in a team setting, and enjoy the challenges that a dynamic food manufacturing facility has to offer.
**Monday-Thursday 1:15 PM-11:15 PM Shift**
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment, as well as troubleshooting, repairing of equipment and machinery while adhering to all safety rules and regulations. Also, be responsible for performing a combination of tasks including repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, adjusting PLC's, production machines and other equipment. Be able to work afternoon/evening shift hours. Be willing to work some Saturdays and Holidays. Some work in the cold storage will be required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technician Functions”
· Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of equipment, machinery, electrical systems, and structures.
· Maintain documentation and catalogue data for various systems while adhering to safety guidelines.
· Troubleshoot machine operation and perform equipment maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 5 years' maintenance experience and/or training
· Excellent troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude required and basic math skills preferred.
· Some basic plumbing / construction / lubrication / electrical / control system / refrigeration / mechanical / preventive maintenance experience is a plus.
· Experience working on Allen Bradley PLC's is also a plus.
